I’m Yaxiong, and I lead Bearland Studio here in the heart of Southern California. For over a decade, I’ve been passionate about capturing those fleeting, yet profoundly significant moments that life presents us.

 

In my work, I strive to blend the narrative depth of cinema with the immediacy of photography, seeking those magical moments where light meets life. Whether I’m using the sharp resolution of digital medium formats or the rich textures of film with my beloved Leica and Hasselblad cameras, my goal is always the same: to tell stories that resonate deeply.

 

I cherish the opportunity to use both digital and analog photography, appreciating the unique qualities that films ranging from 135mm to 120mm bring to each frame. Whether capturing the quiet joy of a wedding, the subtle expressions in a portrait, or the intimate moments within family events, I am driven by a commitment to reveal and celebrate the beauty found in every subject.

 

Beyond photography, I am a filmmaker and podcaster, deeply engaged with exploring themes of humanity, spirituality, and the voices of marginalized communities. My media work is an extension of my artistic narrative, where I tackle social issues, analyze classic films, and participate in cultural discussions.
